MSN Troubles

hi guys

im having huge problems with MSN messenger and hotmail since a few days.

im using adium to connect to MSN which worked fine for the last few years until 4 days ago. now adium wont connect anymore.

i cant even access http://www.hotmail.com or live.msn.com on my mac, neither in safari nor firefox3.

i tried a PC which is in the same network as my mac. and there i can at least access my hotmail account...so my user name and password work fine...but MSN messenger wont work there either.

does anyone experience similar problems atm ?

I am having the same problem but only on my iMac using 10.5.4 as on my PB with Tiger there is no issue. Both are using Adium X 1.2.6 so maybe it is a 10.5.4 issue.

I've been having that as well, if i leave it on for a day or three it'll connect, but otherwise, nothing! Absolute outrage! I'm just glad im not paying for it. I'm still in 10.5.3 and it doesnt work.

I'm also having this problem, I don't suppose anyone has found a work around yet have they?

I found I could get to the login.live.com page if I used the IP address rather than the domain name, even though the domain name resolves...

Worked a treat thanks - Although I don't actually remember ever opening up the hosts file to add that stuff in, did one the 1.3 betas do it automatically?

Nope, you have probably just forgotten or you run some third party fix or something.

I can't connect to MSN through Adium or aMSN. I can't get to hotmail.com either. Anyone else have this issue?

Sounds like a DNS issue.
