I tried to search the forums for this issue before I registered and posted (maybe I overlooked it?) but I didn't see anything relevant...

I have aliases set, and they work fine, the contact list window shows them, chat windows show them, etc. All is well. However, if I lose internet (or wake my computer up after not closing Adium), Adium opens but a lot (usually the same) of my buddies aren't showing the alias. One or two buddies on the contact list will retain their alias but quite a few of them revert to showing their actual screenname. If I go to Get Info it doesn't show anything in the Alias box, but if I completely quit and restart Adium the aliases are back. Any explanation?

Ditto, exact same problem here after updating to 1.3.

Just recreate your contact. It should help=)

I should clarify, for me at least, all my aliases are set through the official AIM client and are all pulled down successfully when I log in through Adium.

The problem described in this thread is known and being worked on. Will be fixed in 1.3.1 with almost 100% certainty.

I fixed it by just putting my Macbook Pro to sleep, waking it up, seeing which aliases didn't stick, and reset them. Works now, I think.

I upgraded to 1.3 from 1.2.2 and have a similar problem when connecting to my Jabber server that uses LDAP. It would appear that 1.2.2 used the "Given Name" field to display in the contact list and 1.3 uses nick name field. I would like a way to show the "Given Name" instead of the nickname / userid, when dealing with hundreds of users knowing their full name is kinda nice

Is this the same issue that being worked on or should I report it as new ?
