Custom MSN Smilies

Hi there,
Was just looking at the feature list for Pidgin 2.5, and it says they now have the ability to send and create custom smilies on MSN.
Now that it is incorporated in Pidgin, how long would it take to incorporate into Adium? I'm clueless to how difficult it is!
