First off, thanks for a great product, and loving the new features in version 1.3. Great to be able to see people's personal messages on MSN, and Facebook Chat is working perfectly for me, doesn't log me out of the internet site either. Maybe it works better with the new facebook.

Anyway, my main point is that now with Facebook Chat, there are a LOT more contacts in the list, and because of the nature of facebook chat, they are signing in and out a lot of the time as they browse away from facebook and back on.

For those of us who use Growl notifications for sign ons and sign offs, this means a lot of the time I'm getting loads of notifications at once, and it's really starting to take over the screenspace, and a bit too often.

So my suggestion is for a new feature - whereby you can select the notifications/alerts/etc. per account. So I could still ahve the notifications for MSN, but disable them for Facebook Chat.

The easiest way to do this now is put all of your facebook contacts in the "Facebook" group (mine already are automatically). Then in the View menu, make sure "Hide Groups" is not selected and make sure you have a contact list that shows the header for the facebook group. That way you can control-click (right-click) on the "Facebook" group header and select "Get Info". In the info box you can click on the little red light button to pull up events for that group and modify the events how you want.

nice one, thanks for the tip, didn't realise you could do that. i can pretty much do exactly what i was requesting with that.

still might be an idea for adium to add the feature per account as well as per group, but this works for now.
