Adium 1.3 bugs?

Forgive me if these have been mentioned before, but with so many 1.3 threads and unsure of what wording would be best to search for, I'll post here. If these have been covered or known bugs, by all means, just ignore me.

• I have all chats in 1 window, with tabs at the bottom of the window. When chatting with one person and I want to close another tab, I now need to go to the tab, then close it. Before 1.3, I could close the tab without making that chat the current chat tab.

• My buddy list is on the left side of my screen, hidden when not in front. I have so when I move the cursor to the left side of the screen, the buddy list should show itself. Sometimes it will show itself and other times it won't. I'm unsure what is causing it to not show and I can't recreate the problem when I want to. It just happens when it happens, it seems.

• I tried out the message badge feature, in the advanced preferences settings. Decided I didn't like it and disabled it, but the chat window still displays the message badges.

• Can't seem to change my icon. I have all my accounts use a global icon and changing it does nothing. I even just tried to change each one individually, with no luck.

I'm using:
10.4.11
768MB RAM
800MHz

I only have Adium 1.3, Firefox 2, mail and BBEdit open during all of this. Unsure if any of the these applications could cause the problems.

I experienced the list-hiding bug in several of the early betas until I gave up and turned it off.

To close an inactive tab without switching to it first, just hold down the command (apple) button while clicking. If you hold down the command button, the "X" will show up just like it used to.

I believe the developers changed this because people complained that it was too easy to accidentally close a tab when trying to switch to it.

I hope they fix the list hiding bug in the future, but it's good to know I'm not the only one experiencing it.

I suppose that makes sense, with the tab closing. Though I can't see how a small x is so easily accidentally clicked, to cause such a change.

I agree, I really liked the hiding feature. I was using it a lot in 1.2.7, where it worked quite well.

Unfortunately, I think tab-closing is one of those personal preference things where there are pretty good arguments to be made on both sides of the issue. I was reading the trac ticket about this earlier in the summer, and as I recall, the comment section was quite lively. I remember something about how this wasn't a problem in Safari because the little X is always visible, even when the mouse isn't hovering over the tab. I know that I personally fell victim to accidentally closing the tab, but I think not clicking in that spot is something you might be able to get used to over time.

Perhaps the best solution is to add a preference in the "Advaced" pane that toggles whether or not you need to use the command button?

As already noted by standardmess I believe this is expected behaviour. I never noticed until now when I checked, probably because I only close tabs when I have finished chatting to somebody and therefore have the tab in question selected anyway.

Don't know what to do here, sorry. We have had problems with contact list hiding a few times. Have you searched Trac for tickets matching this problem?

Ok, I have been playing around with the settings to see what exactly you mean.
If I understand correctly, you disabled "Display a message count badge". That works for me. However, what you probably don't want is the name showing up?

To which services does this apply to?
