Always On Top??

I am having an issue that I can't seem to figure out.

My chat window is staying always on top.
I have looked all though the preferences, but have found nothing to prevent that from happening.
Though, I am male so my skills in looking for something are already handicapped.

Also, when I switch between spaces (cmd + arrow key) and go back to Adium, if that is the only program on that space, it does not default to my open chat window as the active window
I have to move over to the space, then click on the chat box in order to begin typing.
Rather frustrating when I do everything else from they keyboard.

Can anyone offer up any solutions to either of these issues??

Not sure about your other dilemma though.
