Japanese Song Title causes Crash

Hello!
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, I searched around and didn't really find anything so hopefully I'm not asking a 'duh' question. I listen to a lot of video game soundtracks and many of them have Japanese characters in their titles and/or artists. When I put Adium in %itunes status message mode, it will crash when the Japanese titles come up. Has anyone else had this problem? I've noticed it for a few versions. I'm currently using Adium 1.3.2 on OSX 10.4.11, MacBookPro.
