does this feature exist yet? do i have to continue to tolerate several spammers per day popping up new messages and filling up my chat transcript listing with useless junk, or will this feature that *every other chat software out there has* be finally added to adium? this is *such* a basic feature.
please, for the love of benji. add the feature.
here's an example:
10:15:18 PM ernawatkinsmfivnijtfhxdknktlqtm: hello dcwcx
there is also an issue with some YIM user who reappears in my buddy list no matter how many times i block and remove them.

Adium Menu -> Privacy settings... works in most cases if you know how to use it.

so what did you mean exactly by "if you know how to use it"? i have followed the above (and totally obvious, my bad) suggestion and it stopped all the spam users, except one.
one of the problem users is back again. their message window popped up with some of the usual stuff. when i went to the "contact" menu to select "block", i've found that the user is already blocked, and the only choice is "unblock".
is there some kind of hack involved? how is this user able to send messages when i have them blocked? in the past the user has sent two URLs, both attempts at sending me MS dos programs. i'm running OSX and don't open such files anyway.
the file is here: achteeteepee://
www.die-wirtschaftsfoerderer.de/modules/emoticon.php though the URL also includes a variable string at the end, email=yahoo:
my-yahoo-ID@yahoo.com . as i mentioned, i never opened the file, i just looked at the contents in BBEdit. it's a DOS executable. obviously USE CAUTION if you are going to download that file. i've obscured the http part so that the clueless won't easily load it.
the user in question is
green_wills@hotmail.com via YIM.
