No sound events :(

Hi all!
I've recently migrated from my older Mac to a new one (using Mac OS X Migration Assistant), and everything seems to be fine, with one exception: Adium _sometimes_, without any apparent reason, stops reacting to events. I have a sound theme installed (and slightly modified to disable contact online/offline event sounds), and when in Preferences, the sounds play just fine, but when the event occurs - no sounds.
Now, if I go to Preferences and change anything in the Events section - the sounds come back.
Anybody knows why this is happening?
(v1.3.1 r25136, can't update since the new versions don't work with MS Live Communicator accounts).
