I am unable to connect to Yahoo! messenger using Adium on either of my MacBookPro's using Adium 1.3.2. Neither of one of two accounts will connect on either machine. One is running 10.5.5 and the other 10.4.11.
This began sometime within the last week. Adium had been working fine up until that point. I -am- able to connect just fine to Yahoo! messenger via the Yahoo! client on either MacBookPro. I can't recall if I made any system updates in that time frame.
I finally got the Adium debugger installed; here is the output. It is spammy; I realize it is looping I think every 5 seconds? I swapped out my computer user name for USERNAME and the Yahoo! IM name for ACCOUNTNAME but made no other changes. I can see the IP addy for the router in there, is it getting stuck at the router? (And if so, why is it doing that all of a sudden? I've made no changes to anything on that end.)
I've tried following the troubleshooting pages and done everything short of reinstalling (since you've got there not to try that...). I don't have any Xtras installed. I went through the GUI to validate this and also through the file system. I also looked through the ConceptIndexofTickets page and couldn't see anything that approximated this.
Any help getting this resolved would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much.

cannot connect to yahoo messenger with adium
Re: cannot connect to yahoo messenger with adium
I had the same problem, but I found a solution in http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18738 .
1. Disconnect Yahoo
2. Change the connection config from scs.msg.yahoo.com into 66.163.181.106
3. Enable Yahoo
Now Yahoo is working fine again.

THANK YOU!!!! :-)
So much -- wish I could have found the solution myself, thanks so much for posting it here for me. This worked like a charm.

Thank you! Some Googling for "Adium can't connect to yahoo" led me to this thread and your suggestion worked!alcmaer wrote:I had the same problem, but I found a solution in http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18738 .

Re: cannot connect to yahoo messenger with adium
Do we need multiple threads about the same issue? No.
Re: cannot connect to yahoo messenger with adium
You need to link to the other thread when replying Robby. Something like "here's the main thread for this issue url" would have been nicer than what you posted.
