Adium, don't want focus/pop up on new message window

Hi,
I'm quite new to OSX and I'm using Adium as achat client. When I receive a new message, the conversation windows pops up and gets the focus which is very annoying. How can I disable this ?

The "Events" set to "Message Received (Background Chat" I have are
- growl notitification
- play sound
- display name in dock

Just signed up to ask exactly the same thing... Using Leopard and Adium 1.3.2.

Just to clarify... when I'm already talking to someone, the window doesn't pop up. If someone that I'm not already talking to sends me a message, it does.

I have to crrect myself here. Actually it doesn't steal the focus of another window that I'm using. But still, the new conversation window pops up and its content is visible which is I dont want. I would like to be able to set that a new conversation is "hidden" and only the dock or Growl tells me that I received a message.

Mike and Tex, do you mean it gets focus when Adium is in the foreground or when you are using a different programme?

What I mean is that the conversation appears on the screen when it is a new conversation and I'd prefer it to be minimized. Ex: I have mothing on my screen but my desktop. When I receive a new message, the new conversation window pops up and remains visible in the middle of the screen. Hence, other people can see what is in the conversation. I would like that this new conversation window doesn't appear at all.

I see, ok. "Try hiding Adium as a whole (cmd-h)" is the only solution I can offer then.

Yes that does the trick But it would have been nice to be able to configure that.

That would mean another preference. Adium has many of them, we don't want to entirely confuse the user.
