Are you sure you have Adium 1.3.3rc1? Patch 1 works fine for me (Mac 10.4.11 Tiger, Adium 1.3.3rc1). Though not every connection is successful, it DOES really work!

Patch 2 works but only in an invisible mode and after 5 sec adium is crashed
Patch 4 is working (in an invisible mode also but without crashing)

Anytime :)
Little present for Robby, all free:

In case you want to translate yourself. :)
It's not good idea actually. Russian translations made with this stuff are very funny — and very incorrect. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about ;)

I know, it's the same with other languages. But with a little imagination, you get at least an idea what the message is about.
My knowledge of the Russion language is zero, with the help of a translationprogram I get a pretty good impression of the content of a Russian message.... I think. :D

Fixed Adium for Russian/Ukrainian users: http://www12.zippyshare.com/v/5001178/file.html
1. Download
2. Replace Adium in App folder
3. Run
4. Connect Оk :) Work Ok :)

If you still get the message of "1"

1) Getting the message we get from the contact "1".
2) lock (right-click - Block) and it exposes the status of "invisible".
3) restart Adium.

Enjoy! :)

details here: http://nicomua.exocenter.net/page/adium ... taet_s_icq

P.S. Are the programmers of Adium has been so difficult fix???

Still using iChat (which works perfectly and with Chax I miss only metacontacts and hiding groups with no contacts online). I would like to use Adium, but fear to use that version. Who knows what was rewritten there? And if NicomUA's purpose was to help, he'd better tell Adium team what to fix and not post his own versions ;)

Let me guess, you took a patch from the Pidgin ticket, applied it, and released it yourself claiming it was easy?

This thread is a pack of school children. Calm down, blame AOL, and wait for the Pidgin team to confirm what fix works. After this occurs, an Adium with the fix will be released. AOL's changes haven't been entirely rolled out, and I'm willing to bet a lot of the Pidgin developers aren't in the former Soviet Bloc. It makes it extremely hard to test.

Just because you don't see Adium actively fixing it doesn't mean Adium won't be fixed.

I think it was not sooo simple. Just a simple look inside the package of that version helped me to note the changes:

1) New framework inside. Named libiconv.framework. It's site: http://www.gnu.org/software/libiconv/. As you can see it is freeware, not a virus :D and used for text encoding.
2) Adium executable now weighs 4,4 mb (vs 3 mb in original). Guess, it's the result of this framework usage.

My simple guess: authors of that fix used that framework to encode some text in packages, sent to ICQ server, in a way it now does not recognize you as russian/ukrainian. Simple answer to the problem! AOL could not simply ban our IPs cause their client would have stopped working too, but they made the check on the basis of difference in text encoding, which, maybe, is different in not official clients (remember ICQ 6.0 sending other clients HTML tags used for text formatting) (do not blame, only guessing! it might be used by Adium team, but any released version lacks it, so I made my conclusions)
And it works! There are times (once in three times maybe) when 1 UIN shows itself, but you do not need to do anything (no "block and set invisible status" stuff), just simply reconnect :) .

Is the problem gone now since nobody writes here anymore? Adium can't be fixed if you don't help us test which solution works. I think that my last patch should work 100% of the time but I can't test it.

It is strange, but since this morning all Adium versions work :o . Tested 1.3.2 and 1.3.3.rc1.

Let's hope that they feared all rus/ukr users switch to Jabber and cancelled all their stuff. Unfortunately, it's just a dream)))
Possibly, it were actions done by Rambler (official ICQ representer in Russia) (users in other countries did not have troubles with alternative clients). And now official AOL has stopped it. (they might even not know about it - official ICQ forum is full of "comments" about it that were added only recently).

I think that Rambler is the cause because even unofficial clients download ads and banners, even though thay do not show them. So AOL is happy.
