ICQ connection problems for Russian/Ukrainian users

Там есть типы "Системные настройки SOCKS5" и просто "SOCKS5". Нужно второе.

from my own solution is that i use a vpn which give me us ip and it works great.in case u dont use vpn.u can get a proxy from free site.serach google.u get all u need there.free proxy.it will work as well

Proxy servers dying very quickly.

I don't understand - why don't you look at miranda's and QIP website forums - they are working on the update for the protocol modules.
I don't think that it is "little AOL" problem and Adium do not need to be updated..

Situation is looking sad for now for russian Mac users..

I don't think it's helping the developers if you type in russian when they probably can't understand it.

Yea, the situation is very grim. QIP is promising an update to fix the connection issues, but that says nothing top us Mac users.
What are russian mac users supposed to do when there is no official working icq client?

Palringo on my iPhone works with the same account. But that is not a very nice solution, and neither are unreliable proxy servers. *SIGH*. Please, Adium Dev Team, don't neglect us.. we're counting on you.. *puppy eyes*.

strangely enough, MacICQ 3.4 (dropped some 5 years ago) is still working. But it is really a piece of ancient history.

I removed the link as it only contained an updated version of QIP for Windows which doesn't help Mac/Adium users.

Ok, everyone, as Dimmuxx stated it appears this problem affects Russian/Ukrainian users of third-party ICQ clients like Adium.

It would have to be fixed by the developers of Pidgin who maintain the libpurple library (Adium Wiki entry for "libpurple") which Adium uses. The issue has been reported to them (link to report) and once they have a fix it will be implemented in Adium.

For now, all you can do is wait or use a different chat service like AIM (which is compatible with ICQ) or XMPP (also known as Jabber, an open, non-proprietary protocol).

When I am trying to us AIM(with icq uin) I can't see nickname's and aditional infomation!

Промежуточное решение для тех, кому срочно нужна аська и непременно хочется пользоваться именно Адиумом, а не чем-нибудь другим ~~~~ via Хабрахабр:
1. Скачать, установить и запустить локальный прокси-компрессор траффика toonel.net.

2. В настройках учетной записи Adium-а во вкладке "Прокси" выбрать "Соединяться через прокси-сервер". Тип — HTTP, адрес 127.0.0.1, порт 8080
3. Отключите и подключите учетную запись ICQ.
Работает в Adium 1.3.2. Единственный минус - нужно постоянно держать запущенным toonel

Устанавливаете TOR,запускаете, затем в настройках учетной записи ICQ в Adium пишем прокси-сервер SOCKS5 127.0.0.1:9050

Если ставить порт 9050, пишет, что ошибка соединения с HTTP прокси 501
Хз что делать

У меня вообще маршрутизатор стоит, может с этим быть связано ?

Хм, у меня через 9050 подключился нормально..
Может, действительно из-за маршрутизатора.. Попробуй маршрутизатор пустить через ТОР? Я, правда, в этом не очень разбираюсь
Как я понял, банят только пользователей из СНГ, следовательно, нужно просто поменять айпишник на неснгшный, для этого подойдет любой анонимайзер в принципе..

я нашел такое решение, просто запустил jabber через адиум и кинул на него транспорт асечный, все работает..
