i try to log on to my icq through adium today,but i was told no more supported.that i have to download the real icq.but i dont want this.i love adium and am use to it.anybody knows what to do?

Ok, everyone, as Dimmuxx stated it appears this problem affects Russian/Ukrainian users of third-party ICQ clients like Adium.

It would have to be fixed by the developers of Pidgin who maintain the libpurple library (Adium Wiki entry for "libpurple") which Adium uses. The issue has been reported to them (link to report) and once they have a fix it will be implemented in Adium.

For now, all you can do is wait or use a different chat service like AIM (which is compatible with ICQ) or XMPP (also known as Jabber, an open, non-proprietary protocol).

I'm able to login with my Adium but I have changed stuff for the icq protocol in it so in case this problem is global then I know the solution to it.

I asked a couple of friends who also use Adium 1.3.2 on Leopard (10.5.6) - they don't have this problem. I used Adium 5 hours ago at home on another computer and it was fine - but that could be just Europe vs USA time difference because it was morning here and could still be previous day in wherever ICQ has headquarters.

mmm ... I think it's one of the solutions ))) to Change your time zone

In case someone wanna try my solution you must be using latest 1.3 branch svn.

The latest beta might work but I can't guarantee it. Do you have any contacts that are using the official icq 6 client btw?

Stuff in libpurple but it seems that it won't work. I'm still able to connect though but that's probably just because the server I'm connecting to haven't changed.

And what server are you connecting to?

Same here ... Adium 1.3.3b2, Mac OS X 10.5.6.
