For those of us who don't use the Dock much, it'd be really handy to be able to set Away messages from the status menu (in the menu bar).

Hmmm… I forgot what EMD was like in 0.7x.

Try 0.8b: http://www.adiumx.com/beta.html which has this feature, and a bunch of others.

Also, that link should work for anybody faster since http://beta.adiumx.com takes a while for some people…

Dude you should be like a moderator, you always answer stuff first. Their have been so many times you beat me to my posts. Good times.

Just use Cmd + Y. then you don't need to move the mouse at all

Cmd-Y can be handy, but it's not really as convenient if you're in another application; or if you want to choose a previously saved custom away message.
