Using Esc to Close Windows

Post by JakeStarr »

I know in Pidgin and other chat clients I have had, I can use the Esc button to simply close one chat window or tab. I have done some scouring, but have come up short in finding if it is possible through Adium. If there is an Xtra or tweak anyone knows of, I would love some guidance, and also be very appreciative of it.

If there's not, I would love to suggest it as a simple option for future versions.

Why not just use command-W? Its easier to hit with one hand than esc..

The only problem with this option is that you can sometimes hit cmd+q and quit the app. I thought this happened cause I was new to the mac keyboard last year but now, It happens more than half the time.

Just my 2 cents

You could set the "always confirm before quitting" option in advanced > status, but really this is pretty standard OS X behavior. It takes some getting used to in order to not hit q by accident.
