iPhoneOS 3.0 has push notifications = Adium Mobile?

Alright, I've done my search in the forums and in the wiki.
There are some very old topics around this question and I'm not bringing any new request. I'm here just because the topic is not very clear trough the Adium sites. This page in the wiki has not been updated in ages and I thinks may be it's time to have a thread either to conclude that's Adium is not going to the iPhone or somehow let people know what the devs are planing around that.

I didn't read the SDK and documentation for the Push API but, know that Apple officially supports it, I had the impression that to make an official iPhone IM App a webserver would be needed. As I understood the keynote, it works as follows:
(A) = MSN, ICQ, Gtalk, and other IM providers
(B) = App Server (like meebo on the keynote)
(C) = Apple Push Server
(D) = user's iPhone
While iPhone App is closed:
(A) <-- --> keep connection/ports opened <-- --> (B) -->--> (C) -->--> (D)
While iPhone App is oppen 1:
(A) <-- --> keep connection/ports opened <-- --> (B) <-- --> keep this connection opnen <-- --> (D)
While iPhone App is oppen 2:
(A) <-- --> keep connection/ports opened <-- --> (D) -->--> (B) (only to notify when the app closes)
If this is correct, Adium Mobile would be most certainly out of the game. I'm I right? In this case the Wiki page could be re-written to be shorter and clear about the current situation.
If this is not how the Push Notiffication service will work and Adium can be made for Mobile what's the priority for this and does the dev team had time to do it?
What all of you think about that?
