!!Yahoo account does not work on Adium 0.77!!

I don't know what's going on. I can use my AIM account, but my YIM account keeps telling me that I have the wrong user name. It is not the wrong user name. I have no issues connecting through the yahoo massanger. Please let me know if you guys have seen this issue.

Any caps? Do you still have the @yahoo.com or whatever extension?

I don't have caps on. I just have an underscore in my login 'vampire_armond2003'. It works for everyting else excepet Adium.

Hey! I have the same problem too. My Yahoo account 'gerayntfermandemetrius' can't be accessed by Adium alone, but I have no trouble accessing through Yahoo! Messenger.

It says there is no such username, although Yahoo Messanger itself says there is.

Someone must answer for this!

Thank you. The Yahoo account works on 'Fire' aswell. Maybe, there is a limitation on Adium. That does not like x number of characters.

Hm, I've just registered a name of the maximum length and connected succesfully.

Yahoo ID: this_is_a_ridiculously_long_name

Appears to be a 33 character max. Your names fit within that limit.

Please try with the [ulr=http://beta.adiumx.com]Adium 0.80 beta[/beta] and report the Adium Debug Window output as you try to connect.

It works with 0.80 beta. So somthing must be wrong with 0.77.

Ah, but it still does not work with my Yahoo ID, even the new one. It says Gaim error, invalid username still.

Now I have to use Yahoo Messenger itself at the same time, sigh.

here it is, maybe you guys can see if anything is wrong. by the way, it tries to connect on and off before saying that the username is invalid.

Okay, I think I know what's happening. If you had accidentally setup you account with Yahoo Japan, even if you delete the account and recreated with the normal Yahoo, if will read the old config ‘Japan’.
Now, the question is in what file the account configs are kept? Or should I delete whole thing and reinstall and start freash. I'd rather know where the config files are kept.

Hmm, and then, how could this Yahoo-Yahoo Japan mix up happen in the first place, I wonder? I did everything right. I applied for both types of Yahoo accounts, the Yahoo and then the Yahoo Japan, and I did so respectably, and didn't get any trouble.

Now, I think the current release, the 0.8b11 says it fixed this problem, only now, I find that, after I download it, I can't even open the prog!!!

you just need to delete the whole thing and reinstall it again. Just make sure to delete or rename the Adium 2.0 directory. After reinstalling make sure to NOT pick the Japan Yahoo when seeting up your account agian. You should be set after this.

I have a problem which I think is similar. My original Yahoo ID is "Jim Tabor". Yahoo Messenger shows me as "jim+tabor", but Adium will accept neither as the account name. It won't permit a space or + in the name. Do I have to go back to Fire, which lets me do so?
