This is due to us using a username with certain non-ascii characters as an internal key in certain parts of adium. I've fixed one instance of it, but others likely exist.

Thank you so much Catfish_Man! It does not happen in pre-1.4 version, I therefore guess it is caused by the update of libpurple?

I'm pretty sure it's due to an unrelated change in Adium actually. Considering what to do to fix it.

i upgraded to 10.6. problem disappeared.
