I only talk on msn occationally, and only to my friend Sarah. Adium tells me that she closes our conversation window all the time. So I asked her about it.
i didnt.
3:50:40 AM
in fact
3:50:43 AM
i rarely ever do
Sarah closed the conversation window. 3:51:43 AM
I'm inclined to belive to her. Since a forum search didn't show anyone complaining abou this I figured I might as well mention it. She figures it's when she switches away
(Adium X 0.77 on 10.3.8 - talking to MSN Messanger 7.0.0777 on XP sp2 - but I've noticed it on earlier versions of msn)

it has been said before, and I think (not sure) I'm also experiencing this on .8b8
It might have some link with somebody else closing his/her window and all contacts displaying it...

Is she minimizing her window? We've heard reports that the new version of MSN for Windows claims to close the window whenever it's minimized.

I have exactly the same problem on 0.77. I just mentioned about this in the buddy list topic. Sometimes I have the whole conversation window full of "went away" and "came back" lines although my friend is just switching between program windows.

I tried this on my PC.
I installed the newest version of MSN and wrote to myself from my iBook..
After a minute this showed up
"11.58.29 ²³ @ teh PC closed the conversation window."
And i didn´t use the PC at all due the time.

I don't think this is depending on what version of Adium anyone's using, it seems to me Microsoft changed the way MSN Messenger for Windows sends the "conversation window closed" notice, as it was immediatly after the [full scale] release of MSN 7 that this seemed to start happening all the time for me.
