i have an msn contact that always shows as online, but only in adium.
any other msn client i use, the user is correctly shown as offline (msn messenger, beejive on iphone etc).

the contact has the "green" online icon in adium (so it's not a mobile user etc).

any ideas why this is happening?
i am using the latest beta version (1.4b7), but it also happened on the current release version also.

I am having this with Yahoo with my contacts never logging off when they are long gone. It started with 1.3.5. Yahoo works great otherwise, just that issue.

If I log out of Yahoo and back in, they are gone. It's not happening with Yahoo's; client BTW, just a note.

Same issue. Adium shows Yahoo contacts as active (green) when they in fact are not there. If I quit Adium and restart, those contacts are shows as offline, and if I mouse over the name on the contact list, it will show "Last seen online xx minutes ago", where xx can be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.

The problem appeared to have started a week or so ago, about the same time that the logon problems started.

In another thread, it was suggested to connect to Yahoo Messenger on the web and sign in using the "new secure process," but I see no such secure process. I can sign in to Yahoo Messenger on the web, I can sign in using the Yahoo Messenger app, all normally, but the Adium "sticking" problem remains.

Using Adium 1.3.5, OS X 10.5.7, server scs.msg.yahoo.com.

A friend also using Adium, same version and setup, has same issue. We did a test where I disconnected and his contact list showed me still online. He quit and restarted, and it then showed me off.

I'm having the same issues and it's happening with the yahoo, aol, and msn messengers, but not with the direct clients. I usually have to quit adium and restart it to refresh the online list. As far as I can tell, this has been going on for two days.

The issue of Yahoo contact lists growing stale is known and will be fixed in the next Adium release.
Don't know what's up with MSN, though.

can confirm that this is still happening.

user is showing as online (green logo next to username) in admium.
log in using any other client and the user is not showing as online.

just updated to 1.4b8 and still getting this issue.
is it just me? or is it something unique to this particular msn contact i have ?

Why if this issue has been answered don't you post the direct link to the solution, instead of just saying go fetch the issue... please, be helpful!

This contacts still show and now is Adium 1.4.1 with snow leopard. This issue still happening.
