Yahoo contacts remain online on my Adium when they have either signed off or gone invisible. I tested it with my own Yahoo messenger. The problems with Yahoo get odder every day. This started when I downloaded 1.3.5. after having connection problems with Yahoo.

I'm getting the same error, but only on a 'new' Yahoo! account. The account is on the @ymail.com domain. All contacts on the other accounts (old @yahoo.com accounts) are reported to go online/offline correctly.

This is a known problem, will probably be fixed in 1.3.6/1.4b8.

Any news about a futures release? The Yahoo part is becoming more and more annoying. Setting up your own profile picture/avatar doesn't work, there is no sign-off notification, contact profile pictures/avatars are not visible...

Indeed, I have been eagerly checking for updates a couple times a day manually even though Adium already checks on its own, hoping for this issue to be solved. Looking forward to 1.3.6!

Updated to the latest beta 1.4b8, but problem still exist. Yahoo user log out, but i can still see them.

I can't tell when 1.3.6 will be out and I can't give an explanation why b8 doesn't fix it for you, Baldini, sorry.

The new version is fixed so that you won't appear online to other Yahoo users. They will still appear online to you until they update to a client that uses the new login/disconnection protocols.

This bug is insanely annoying. I get many messages when I log in asking me why I am not responding. Some people have just given up sending me messages unless I send them one first.

I hope they update it soon. It basically makes Yahoo messenger worthless on Adium.

I am also having this problem... also having a problem that I am receiving yahoo messages TWICE... very annoying, was starting to think people just weren't getting mine so they'd repeat what they say or something but no... yahoo was just duplicating messages... really weird and annoying

I also am receiving double messages it's actually driven me to the point of no longer using Yahoo on Adium. The contact list just kept growing and crashing all the time so I have had to move on to a different messenger. I know it has been asked but is there any further updates on this issue?

Okay, if you're using Mac OS X 10.5 you can try the 1.4 beta where the fix has landed already. For 1.3.x this bugfix will come around with 1.3.6.

sadly I have 10.4

So as long as I have 10.5 and download the current beta, this bug IS fixed? Is it completely fixed or just fixed so I'm not showing up online but all the other yahoo contacts who are currently showing up as online but are offline is still not fixed? I'm asking so that I can gauge whether it's worth going beta as opposed to just keeping what I have???

I don't know for sure. I just installed the latest beta (1.4 beta 8). The release notes say Adium fixed "Fixed lingering Yahoo issues with double messages, contacts not going offline, etc". I'll see later today when some of my contacts log in, then log out. Most of them showing the problem are connecting to YIM via either Trillian or eBuddy, so I'm not sure if the problem is fixed - yet!
