IRC with Adium - instructions please

I see that you can add an irc server as a contact..but then what. A simple step-by-step would be really appreciated. Looking forward to using this feature, thanks.

I'm using the 1.4b7 beta on a macbook with leopard 10.5.7

I have no Adium to check at hand but I think should be it:
1. Setup an IRC account in Adium as you'd do so with other services (AIM, MSN etc.).
2. Join a chatroom via "File-Join Chat".

We plan to update the documentation in Adium itself and on the website in time for the release of Adium 1.4 to include new features like IRC and Twitter.

Easy enough. Thanks. I just need to remember to put a freaking hash (#) tag in front of the channel now.
