Buddy list syncronization issue + other

Hi,

I use the AdiumX version 0.77 on my iBook. The problem is that every time I connect with it, I get lots of "buddy list syncronization issue" dialogs to my screen. What's the problem? It always asks if I want to add all my buddies again to my buddy list. How does this problem generate? I use MSN Messenger on my Windows PC but I should not be the problem since I rarely edit the buddy list. Anyone else having the same problem? It's quite annoying, although it occurs only when I connect.

Another annoying issue is that I get lots of "closed conversation window" and "went away" messages although the person that I'm chatting with does not go away or close the window. Is there any solution to this issue?

The synchronization issue is fixed in Adium 0.80 beta:

I disagree (sorry), but I still get this occasionally in the beta, most specifically with myself as the contact, but sometimes with other people. Seems to me the thing that causes it most often is when I create a contact in Adium then edit it in the official client, then revert to using Adium.

Well, yes, that is what you would expect. You have it in Group A in Adium and you move it to Group B in another client. You now launch Adium, and Adium needs to know how to resolve the discrepancy. The dialogue exists for a reason.

But I answer the dialog and it comes up next time I turn on Adium again, it seems to have stopped doing it now but it took about 6 "yes"s to believe me that that's what I wanted to do :p.

Hm, I'll look at what's supposed to actually change when that happens. In any case, the problem of it happening for every buddy, not just when there is a legit synchronization issue, is fixed in .8. :)

I've been encountering this, too - it seems to be a libgaim issue, but no one seems to be fixing it. ^.^; I have the problem with a buddy who I certainly never moved anywhere with the official client, only with Gaim/Adium. Moving the buddy gives me a crippling amount of error messages - I don't exaggerate when I say that the screen was filling up with them and my graphics card was starting to slow down at drawing all of them. So I deleted my blist.xml file and opened Adium - to be greeted with a single synchronization message. It's decidedly preferable to eighteen thousand, but doesn't quite make sense since it's grabbing the list from the server and there should be no way to have synchronization errors.
