Adium crashes constantly

Hi,
Since yesterday, both Adium 0.77 and Adium 0.8 started crashing A LOT. And I mean a lot. I start up Adium, it connects, and if I doubleclick a contact or someone starts talking, it crashes. I threw away all the preferences, but the problem remained.

I had this same problem in .77, relating to a buddy of mine having a weird background color set in their profile. I never found out who it was, but updating to the .8 beta fixed it immediately.

Do you have many adium related things you desperatly want to keep? For example logs and message view styles etc. If not you could delete everything that comes up in a search for Adium then re-download it and start over. It's a bit of a process and highly annoying but it's been the only way I've been able to get Adium going a couple of times before.
On a side note now that I have used the beta it is impossible for me to run Adium .77, (with the beta not running obviously) it just crashes either on startup or when I try to view the prefs. I'm guessing this is because the beta writes something to the prefs the .77 release doesn't understand but it can be annoying that I cannot now step back, for example if I want to check something to answer a question here

After a day of trying, I found out that the crash-issue probably is related to the version that fixed the log-on problem (
http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic. ... c&start=15). Once again, I removed evrything and installed the latest beta instead of the version with the log-on-rpoblem-fix. It seems to work again now.
