I've been having issues with 10.6 and Adium 1.3.6. The issue I've been having is that my AIM buddy list does not load and Adium tells me all my contacts are offline.

Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, I've seen this issue as well. It tells me I'm connected but none of my contacts show up. Usually just disconnecting and reconnecting solves the issue.

I've tried that, however, it doesn't seem to be working this time.

I would recommend everyone experiencing issues with Adium that are related to Snow Leopard to update to the 1.4 beta.

Hi

I seem to experience this elsewhere in Snow Leopard as well so I think it's not specifically an issue with Adium, hmm.

(Un)fortunately I've upgraded to a new Mac and I'm not getting this problem on here so I don't think I'll be much help for this any more. Someone else experiencing this will need to take it up :)

I know I'm late to the party as well, but having the same issue.

OS X 10.6.2, and Adium 1.3.8.

I'm not using growl, and there are noticeable delays from my typing the input, and it being sent.

I have not noticed any other delays within SL.

I'll look for the 1.4 beta, and see if that helps. Now where can I find 1.4 beta?

Thanks

I have the exact same problem and I am running Adium 1.4b17 - It's been going on for about 5-6 months now. It extremely frustrating. I can type a whole paragraph before it catches up. Switching between windows can take 3-5 seconds. I sometimes wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I run facebook chat on my adium. IDK but it's extremely frustrating. I've been a big fan of Adium for about 4 - 5 years but now I find myself looking for a fix or a different solution all together.

I double jakespeters post. Got same version, same problems. I can add that I had them at 10.5 to - so its nothing connected to 10.6. I have updated growl to (even though I didnt find their beta).

Been in love with Adium for a decade or so but... Looking for a solution - or Ill move to something new like Trillians aplpha: http://www.trillian.im/download/

Hi everyone,
in order to analyse and fix these apparent performance problems the developers require some hints in the form of samples (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/Sampling) or hang logs which should be in /Library/Logs/HangReporter/Adium (at least on 10.5).

I'm having the exact same problems on Adium 1.3 and also when I tried beta 1.4b18. When I hit return after typing text I get a 3-5 second delay before it appears, plus all my sounds have stopped working. Very frustrating, as I much prefer Adium to other clients!

For the record, I'm on 10.6.4 and growl 1.2.1.

What can I try to fix this?

Thanks.

As an update to this, I've discovered whats causing this - the driver on my external sound card (a Numark DJ IO). If I go to sound prefs, choose internal speakers rather than the numark driver then Adium works fine, all sounds and no typing lag. Soon as I switch it to 'Numark USB Audio Device: Output', the problem reappears.

So Adium has an issue with this driver (which works fine with everything else on my iMac by the way).

As a workaround, in Adium I set audio notifications and default notifications to none, that way I get no audio in Adium but I also get no lag!
