Just downloaded some custom Adium emoticon sets for my MSN account, but when i chat with people using the regular MSN interface the smilies aren't visible! Do the emoticons even work with non-Adium users??

Nope, the only way that would work is if Adium were to integrate a feature where we could use custom emoticons in our messages but it doesn't appear that this will be happening anytime soon. I've been waiting for this feature over 2 yrs myself, lol.
