I realise this isn't exactly your standard IM protocol, (it's more like a small group internal twitter + status message) but is there any interest in having/developing an ability for Adium to access this service?
Journal entries could be updated by, well, sending a message out, while status updates might require a prefix (say "status: "). Others' updates could be handled using existing interface elements, and there is a public API.
I realise this is probably a very low priority - but in sharp contrast to most IM services, the service providers are only too happy to have people connecting to their servers via any tool available...
Any chance at all Adium might support this protocol?
