Changing Fonts on Adium 1.36/1.4 on Snow Leopard

Hi guys,

I've been trying to change my message font in Adium X 1.36. I have just updated to Snow Leopard and never had this problem on 10.5. Now however, I can't get the font to change. After changing the font in Adium prefs and restarting, the new font shows, but only for messages that I receive from a contact and not for MY messages. However, if I close the chat window and reopen it, then my historical messages show with the correct font formatting.

To try and resolve this problem I've installed the latest beta 1.4b9, but I am still having issues.

Any guidance/suggestion on this would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Tony

Is http://trac.adium.im/ticket/12946 what you are seeing?

That is what I am seeing, but I had changed the font style in the following place: Prefs>Messages>Text Display>Font

Changes I make there are not reflected in messages I post until after I close a chat window and reopen it. Received messages are reformatted, but my outgoing text doesn't reformat. I hadn't come across the substitutions window you described until just now.

Hope that is of help, if you require further information, please ask and I will clarify.

I think I am having the same problem. I have no problem with the smart quotes, I guess I never cared. However I did try to check them all, and close and re-open the window and they all become unchecked. However that isn't my concern. I want the font I see, both coming and going to be Antenna 12. However anytime I sent a font out from a new chat window it appears to be Lucida, or Helvetica or something.

That is a screen of my font preferences and an example message box. As you can see everything above my most current sent message is Antenna 12, but my message is a different font. If I were to close the window and re-open it, then my "Test message" would appear in antenna but all new messages come in the default font. Antenna isn't the old font that doesn't work I tried with Trebuchet and Optima, and just for fun Zapfino. Problem persists.
