I'm a few weeks into Adium and solving probs through the threads here which is great thanks and while I got excited about the potential of a script in the Better Address Book Integration thread but I guess my question was a bit much so I shall wait patiently for a remark at least.

Anyway in trying to tweak my message view using PureGradients 48x48 can anyone tell me if I can change the font for how my chat text appears, I can change what comes to me and select font and colour for what I write but in the chat session it makes no difference and just uses the default Lucida Grande I think. So has anyone been able to get your own text to be customised or is it fixed at the default.

Changing the font in PureGradients works fine for me. How are you changing your font? you should press command+T while chatting to change it.

Thanks for the info, I find that every time that I log on I have to reset the fonts as they return to Helvetica.

You could try changing the 'Default Font' in the file ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/Formatting.plist to whatever you want. I think its a bug in Adium 0.7x that will be fixed in Adium 0.8.
