AIM/ICQ: Contacts have disappeared from list

I have a Adium 1.3.6 running on Snow Leopard, which worked find until a few days ago. When I log on to Adium, none of my contacts show up. The list is empty. I know some of them are online. It says that I am online and available. I can make all the offline contacts show up. I've tried trashing the preferences as the troubleshooter exists, but those do not exist anywhere on my computer than I can find. I've even tried reinstalling Adium. I've done search for them and looked for them where the troubleshooter said they should be. When I created a different user account on my Mac, the same thing. The contact list is empty. I think the most recent update that I did was for Growl, but I can't remember when I did so. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Which service(s) are you using?

I'm using AIM. The contacts are back. The only change since I last checked was that I put the computer to sleep for about an hour or two and now I'm operating on wireles newtwork. I also updated Growl again.

I am seeing a similar problem. On initial start of adium or after sleep, Adium makes me 'available' on AIM (I don't know if others can see me), but none of my contacts appear online. My jabber contacts are fine. So far, disconnecting/connecting that aim id a couple of times has resolved it. I am not sure if others can see me as available or not.

Mike -

Thanks for the tip. I seem to have stumbled upon it last night before reading your post this morning. Like you, I don't know if I'm appearing to any of my contacts either. But what I find most strange is I cannot find my preferences files as they are listed in the Troubleshooter. Do you have the same issue.

I have added this issue to the "Known issues" thread. We'll try to keep you updated.

I did find my preferences ... though only after your prompting :-) Everything looks fine, though it does seem that Adium has gone preference file crazy! There must be a fairly well-defined way to get those files read/written as well as easily accessible once in memory.

Should be fixed for 1.3.7/1.4b10.

This seems to be fixed (though in the interim, I upgraded to Snow Leopard).

Thanks.
