adium isn't auto scrolling to new txt in msgs anymore.

this happened today, quite randomly, for the first time.

i have all my chats in adium consolidated into one window. for some reason, whenever i recieve a new message from someone, it is not auto scrolling thru the window to where the new text of the message is.

any help??

Are you scrolled up when you receive the message?

UPDATE: As of Mac OS X 10.3.9, smooth scrolling is broken. I'm really sorry about this, and I'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible. The issue also affects Proteus themes that use a similar algorithm. However, Adium 0.8 is on the verge of final release, and I'm hoping that this will fix the problem. In 0.8 you will also be able to change the main font, Cochin, from Adium's preferences. I suggest that you use Smooth Operator in the mean time. 0.8 will be out any day now.

Exactly what 0.8 is supposed to do with it I don't know... The code used to make the text scroll smoothly by some message styles is broken by OS 10.3.9, and by the forthcoming OS 10.4. That's not something that is likely to change, so unless someone can fix the code to work properly - or removes the code from the style, as would probably be most sensible - message styles using this will simply not work.

I'll stress - this is nothing to do with Adium, it is entirely the fault of the message styles. I say this comfortably as the author of an affected style.

No, I think it's okay; the devs do it on occasion, and if there are going to be multiple threads about scrolling being broken, then it's reasonable to post information like that in each of the threads. Some people only check certain threads.
