Growl Stopped Working

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail. I have growl set to display an alert when I receive an im in the background and it always worked until I transferred to a new computer. I am currently running 10.6.2 on an iMac i7. Also, when I tried to run:
killall GrowlHelperApp GrowlMenu
defaults write com.growl.growlhelperapp GrowlSquelchMode -bool NO
open -a GrowlHelperApp
open -a GrowlMenu
...it said "unable to find application named 'GrowlMenu'". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
