Friend is using AOL on her phone. When she sends IM's to me (or another friend using the same version) they start in English but flip back and forth between English (which she is typing) and Chinese. In the actual AOL client it is coming through in English.
Occurring on Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and Leopard 10.5.8 With Adium 1.4b16. Problem only started occurring after the update.

What phone is she using?

Same problem yesterday with 1.4b16 and today b17. My friend is using a Blackberry Storm. As much as I’d like him to get an iPhone, he won’t.

I just thought I'd chime in and say that I'm experiencing the same problem with a contact using a Blackberry Pearl. Works fine in BeeJive on my iPhone, Chinese in Adium 1.4b17

My gf is using a htc touch or fuze or diamond and it happens, please fix this

should also add that when using the 1.3.8 version this is not an issue

Has been fixed in source and will be fixed in the next beta.

1.4b18 of course, since 1.4b17 is the latest.

Thanks and sorry. Realised too late I could check which version I was on.

hope this is released soon... this issue is making the beta quite unuseable

Then use the stable release instead. Development is going very slowly at the moment, so no ETA.

1.4b18 has been released fixing this issue.
