Sound not working

Sound notifications stopped working for me recently and I haven't been able to figure out why. I didn't change any preferences; it suddenly stopped working.
Adium 1.4b17
Snow Leopard 10.6.2
Please help.

Ive had that happen before. Usually I just fixed it by closing out of adium and then opening it up again and if that didnt work then i redid the preferences for the sound. I think its only a minor bug and not a big deal.
