twitter acting funky all of a sudden

Never had a problem before with 1.4b17 on my 1.5Ghz PPC G4 PowerBook running 10.5.8 but as of the last couple days I've had trouble connecting to Twitter.
Debug window gives me this:

21:33:29: -[AITwitterAccount connect]: <AITwitterAccount:some_code>:me connecting to twitter.com

21:33:31: -[AITwitterAccount requestFailed:withError:]: <AITwitterAccount:some_code>:me Request failed (some_code) - Error Domain=HTTP Code=400 "(null)"
over and over again.
Any ideas?
