Bah, looks like another 10.3.9 rendering issue - this happen after you upgraded your OS?

Do you like it enough for me to try to fix it? ;)

the problem is that the border of the bubble is under the text on the last message. usually happens if you have consecutive messages from the same person.

I installed these programs:

iScroll
Extensis Suitcase X1

And I DID update my OS the other night with the OS X updater.

thanks for the help guys.

I've had a look, and it's actually fine on my 10.3.9 install, so that teaches me not to jump to conclusions. I wouldn't have thought either of those two programs was interfering with webkit, though it's possible Suitcase does I suppose.

Try reinstalling Retro - the easiest way is probably just to download Adium again.

i tried reinstalling, but i still got the problem.

it's weird, sometimes it formats it correctly, and sometimes it doesnt.

um....like in the history, like when you open up a IM and it shows the past 5 messages, it looks fine, and sometimes when i type it looks fine, but most of the time it doesn't format it correclty.

Thanks

Ok, I actually tried it out, instead of assuming it would look how it did in the preview (which was dumb) - I'll fix it tonight, hopefully.

Yes and no. I've had a look, it's not an easy fix (well, not to me, with my limited knowledge of css). I could fix it, but it would be a complete rebuild, which will take time. If you're really set on using this, instead of any of the other styles (is there nothing on the Xtras site you like more? :) ) - then I'll do it.

Unless, of course, someone more knowledgeable than I wants to have a go... I know people like pss are a million times more talented than I at these things :)

what exactly is wrong with it?

...i like retro cuz it's simple and not too flashy or distracting.

What's wrong is that the bubble outline should wrap around all the messsages. As is, it doesnt' wrap around the last line.

And I can confirm that I just upgraded to 10.3.9, and that's precisely when it started happening.

What's wrong is that 10.3.9 renders CSS (cascading style sheets - a technology that describes the display of objects on a webpage) in subtly different ways to previous versions. Message styles are actually just fancy web pages, so any changes to the OS's display of web material also impacts them.

There have been a lot of issues similar to the ones you're seeing here, most of them relating to vertical height of consecutive messages. Unfortunately, Retro is put together in what I would regard as an idiosyncratic manner. I have no doubt that it's built more efficiently than anything I've made, but it makes it ten times harder for me to know where to begin trying to fix it.

I'll see if I get time this weekend for a rebuild.

haha...i noticed the new build didn't include retro....

speaking of....are the preferences not saved in a seperate file? The past two builds have replaced my settings and I have to redo some of the colors and the look/feel of my contact list.

Thank
