Unable to connect to AIM

I have been unable to connect to AIM since yesterday. I've double checked my account and can use it without problems on iChat, aim.com (including AIM express), and Google Talk within Gmail.
I used AppCleaner this morning to erase all traces and reinstalled the lastest version on adium.im (1.3.10). Even with a clean install, I cannot get onto aim. The messages in my account settings flash by too quickly but I think I can see it sending the password and a number of other messages until it shows:
Code: Select all
Error: Lost connection with server. Connection Reset by Peer
Anyone else having this problem or any advice on how to fix it?

Unless this issue doesn't disappear in the next few days, I'm willing to bet this is a temporary serverside issue. I can't think of a reason why you suddenly aren't able to connect anymore.

That's what I figured but it's be going on for three days and I can still connect to the exact same AIM account through other programs (ex: iChat). I'm wondering if Adium's method of connection or connection settings could some how be different and that be causing the problem.
I should have also mentioned that others in my office can connect through Adium which is why I tried a fresh install in case I had screwed up a setting or something.

I posted in a different thread on a similar issue, where 3rd party IM clients are returning that the account has been suspended/disabled, while AOL native clients (iPhone, desktop and web) work fine. I reported it to AOL and they said that everything should be cool, but Adium, Pidgin and iChat seem to disagree.

I was able to test Adium at home last night and was able to sign on to my account. I am still unable to here at my office.
At home I have a MBPro with Leopard while at work I have a Mac Mini with Snow Leopard. The only other major difference is our internet connections. Is there a way to test if it is the OS version, a setting, or the internet connection that is causing my inability to connect to AIM?

I'll get somebody to look at it.

I know this sounds crazy but Adium has just started working for me. All I did was make iChat my default client and not use Adium for about a week and a half. I tried it again this morning and it's working fine as if this whole debacle never happened. However, now two other people in my office cannot connect who were previously able to.
I'm not sure how to find out but perhaps AIM or AOL is in the process of some sort of maintenance that is causing this? Just an idea I had but I'll be the first to say I don't know much about IM clients or servers.

Chances are this was a temporary server issue, yes. There are AIM and ICQ server outages every now and then and in most cases only a portion of the userbase is affected.
