Because I work on a laptop, I close Adium windows regularly to conserve space. Now that I am going to start using Adium for my IRC needs (yay!), I'd like to continue doing this.
The problem is that when I close said window with IRC within, I am leaving the room.
Is there a way to set up my Adium so that I don't leave the room unless I explicitly tell Adium that is what I want to do? Can I have the window popup as if it was any other message that comes in?
We use IRC at work and this functionality would be phenomenal, but if the answer is simply "no" I'll go on my way and still be happy.
An instant messenger which can connect to AIM, GTalk, Jabber, ICQ, and more.

I believe you can use an irc proxy to remain in the channel while Adium thinks you aren't; however, this wouldn't get the 'reopen on message' behavior you want. I don't think that part is possible.
