Selective invisibillity

I have a Yahoo IM account and a Gmail account (which I don't use for IM'ing). To some of my Yahoo contacts I would like to be invisible while simultaneously being visible to other Yahoo contacts. From what I can tell, with Adium all Yahoo contacts must be either visible or invisible and you cannot choose on a per-contact basis how to appear. Is that correct? Or is there a way to be selective about how you appear to individual contacts?

Have you tried right clicking the contact, going to "Presence Settings for <contact name>" and choosing "Always Appear Offline to <contact name>"?
