[MSN incoming msgs dropped]

Postby yoplin » Fri Oct 01, 2010 5:15 pm

Hi, All:

I've been working with Beta 1.4b18 for a while with no problem. A few days ago I updated to b19 and began having problems with MSN.
Some messages I receive, some messages are just lost. I end up telling my contacts that I'm losing msgs and to resend everthing until they get an ACK from me.
I decided to downgrade to b18 again, but I'm still having problems. Any thoughts? (FYI, i went to Betas because I had this very same problem with the usual releases, v1.3).

TIA,
c.

Wait a few more days and see if it fixes itself. It usually does with MSN.

I've had problems with people not being able to send me MSN messages both in b19 and b18.

Could you give us some specifics?

- Was/Is this a problem with all of your contacts?
- Are you sure you don't have contacts blocked by mistake causing this problem?
- Does this happen persistently?
- Does this happen with contacts using all kinds of software (Adium, Pidgin, MSN Messenger etc.)?

If you're using in multiple locations (networks, i.e. at home, at work): does it happen everywhere?

Guys, I'm having this problem to since a lot of releases, the people to I chat sometimes send me messages that I never receive and sometimes messages that I wrote to them get literally lost in cyberspace, it's frustrating.

- Was/Is this a problem with all of your contacts?

Yes
- Are you sure you don't have contacts blocked by mistake causing this problem?

No contact blocked
- Does this happen persistently?

Yes, since a "lot" of releases ago
- Does this happen with contacts using all kinds of software (Adium, Pidgin, MSN Messenger etc.)?

MSN Messenger works fine

If you're using in multiple locations (networks, i.e. at home, at work): does it happen everywhere?

Yes, different locations with different ISPs, routers, etc.

In your MSN preferences, do you have the option "Connect via HTTP" checked?

Hi. =-) It's better not to. It tends to cause messages getting lost.

The problem still happens on 1.5 final release.
