No blinking names in v 1.4

Yesterday I've updated to version 1.4. Today I noticed names in the contact list doesn't blink anymore when there's a unread message in a conservation. It's just on or off, but it doesn't blink. I do have ticked the box in the settings to enable blinking names with unread messages.
How can I solve this or is it just a bug?
