Hi.

I just wanted to check if I'm missing something. In the version history it says:

* Support for MSN direct connections, enabling faster file transfers and faster retrieval of custom emoticons and buddy icons

I don't experience any difference after the update. Files are still being sent at 10kb/s and received at around 2kb/s. My internet is 100 mbps up and down, same with the person who's sending. Even through LAN it's slow as hell. What am I missing?

I have the same results. With Microsofts own client the file-transfers goes quick and this is still as slow as last version.

Are you guys sure you didnt forget to enable this new mode?


Otherwise a really good work. My girlfriend really wants a Windows version of Adium now that she has seen and used it on my computer

Yes can someone please explain why this doesn't work? I just tried between a buddy who also updated to newest adium, and it was the classic 8 kb/s.

Same here, I tried two WLM buddies who can usually do direct file transfer and an Adium buddy who just updated to 1.4.1, 5-6KB/s both sending and receiving.

This isn't going to work for everybody. See http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/12094.

In my short test with another Adium user it worked.
