Prevent IM windows from automatically reopening on startup?

How do we prevent IM windows from automatically reopening on startup of Adium 1.4.x? This behavior didn't exist in previous versions of Adium.

Preferences > General > Save opened chats when quitting

Thanks! Yeah, I misread that to mean that it wouldn't try to save the chat log transcripts if unchecked, but I believe those are constantly written to anyway.
