My display name on MSN won't change?

In "Personal" where I change my Name and Icon, I type the name I want to use, right? But my friends still see the name registered with my e-mail. 
I have added myself on my own contact list, and even when I try to change my name it still won't take effect and it still displays my name. Is there a way to fix it?
