Problems on shutdown

I am running Adium 1.4.1 on OSX 10.6.5 and when I shutdown my mac with Adium running I keep getting this message.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

Are you able to quit Adium normally when you are not actually shutting down your Mac?
Does the message you made a screenshot of turn up every time you shut down your Mac with Adium running?

Firstly apologies for the delay in replying to this....
The issue occurs every time I get one or both of these errors in MSN:
"Message may have not ben sent because a timeout has occurred"
"Message could be sent because an error with the switchboard has occurred"
Whenever these errors appear I cannot shut down Adium without doing a Force Quit.
I am running the latest build as of the date of this post from running the instructions here:
http://trac.adium.im/wiki/GettingNewestAdiumSource
Are there any logs I can post to help debug this? Aside from this issue the MSN errors are really frustrating and never occur when I use the native MSN mac client.
