I CANNOT get Adium Facebook account to work!

I've tried adding my facebook account on its own AND as a jabber account and it won't connect! I've double checked my passwords and they all work but still, no luck on Adium. Does ANYONE have any suggestions?

Have you enabled the new Facebook feature to require that all FB connections go over HTTPS? That seems to break Adium's FB access.

Works fine for me, with https turned on. https://www.facebook.com/help/?search=Adium or http://trac.adium.im/wiki/FacebookChat

That only works if you have a username on Facebook. Not everyone chose to have a username. Guess we'll have to wait for https in adium.

That's how Facebook Chat works, though, I'm afraid.

The Facebook plugin in Adium is a hack and will not be updated. Connecting via Jabber is the Facebook-official way, we recommend it. See also http://adium.im/blog/2010/07/facebook-chat-via-xmpp/.
