Limit history in chat window

Post by marciohumpris »

Hi, everyone

Congrats on Adium, really the best out there for mac! :)

one question, I get several alerts (coming from emails) in IM... Problem is, most IM programs only show the last message. Adium shows a pretty big history like the last 5 msgs, that confuses me a bit.

Is there a way for me to set it up so that for a specific contact (the one where I get alerts) to show only the last message?

Thanks

There's only a preference that applies to all contacts in Preferences - General. It is not possible to set this on a per-contact basis.

Thanks a lot. Any chance I can pop in a feature request to do that per contact?

Thanks. Im still trying to figure it out. That setting you mention Im not sure if its for chats also.

I get email alerts on this IM contact. If I dont acnowlege it (read it and close the window which opens as a tab with my other conversations), then it shows all that i received. I believe I have to clear display or close the contact, then it shows just the new ones.

Is that how it works? It seems to also grey out the already read msgs...

Thanks

Hi,

I see if I set to 0 in history it always keeps just the last message, but I have to close the window, then only new ones appear.

Theres no way to make the alerts separate one alert per message, it will always put consecutive alerts together, no way to make it pop up 1 alert at a time, right?
