How to get access to Adium logs

I have tried to debug a connection against an XMPP service, and I cannot seem to find any logs for Adium. All the info in the Adium Wiki about where to find logs is completely incorrect on my system.

I have tried to start the app with debug option on. However, Library/Logs includes no Adium directory or logs, and Library/Application Support also includes no Adium directory. It's a complete mystery to me as to where Adium stores its files. I've tried to use UNIX find (since OSX search is useless) and was not able to find any Adium log files or anything with the name "Adium" in it except the actual application bundle.

All I am trying to get is the error messages coming from the XMPP server, yet Adium does not give me access to any of this information. Why isn't this available even by default? I should be able to see the dialog between the client and the server, seems not right for Adium to hide that from advanced users.

Could someone provide a suggestion as to how to get this information? Or suggest another XMPP client that supports debugging?

Thank you.

You have to check the "save logs" option in the debug window from Adium > Debug Window for it to save the logs to file. Otherwise it just saves the last N to the window.
and Library/Application Support also includes no Adium directory.
Adium 2.0, not Adium. Can you check and see if that's there? If it's not, I can only assume Adium has never executed?

If you're explicitly searching for "Adium" this is why.

You can enable the XMPP Advanced Features, and then File > Account > XML somethingorother, I don't recall the name offhand, but it lets you view raw XML and send raw XML. 99% of users don't need this window, and could otherwise do dumb things in it.
