Feature idea

Hi, this is a more of a feature idea than a request, although it would still be lovely to see...

I'd love to see a full-screen version for OS X Lion (10.7). I was thinking about it and I think it would be great to see in full screen.

I had an idea that it would look like the full-screen Mail.app layout. The main section on the right (the actual email) would show of course the conversation, then on the left (where the list of emails is), that could be split into two. Approx 2/3 size at the top would be the contact list and the lower 1/3 could be a list of your accounts.

Visual style would be quite basic, very much in keeping with the new anodised type metal in Lion:
  • The contact list would be basic, with a slight "bubble" effect to distinguish between each contact, with a status icon (in "Stockholm" style but more round), then name then service icon (in "Xicons" style but perhaps more of a greyscale and a little embossed) for each contact 'bubble'. The contact list would be arranged by name, but those with recent interaction would remain at the top of the contact list for quick access.
  • The accounts list would be of a similar style to the contact list, but with the service icons being a lot bigger and more prominent.
  • Conversations would be of the "Renkoo" message style ('Steel on Blue No Names' variant), very basic but looking really slick, with a small strip at the bottom for the typing section

Mouse overs would offer the core functionality for each of the sections:
  • an overlay for each contact with basic functions such as "Block" and "Get Info...", with another small overlay in the top right of the contact section with a "+" sign to add a contact.
  • Account list overlays would offer three options: Status, Connect/Disconnect and Edit
  • Conversation overlay would offer two options: Encryption and Transcript
  • Typing box overlay would offer two options: Emoticon and File Transfer

This has turned into quite a long post and I apologise, I just had the idea in my head and wanted to get it out there. If I had any sort of talent in either Photoshop (to make a mock-up) or in programming I would be more than willing to put a lot of effort into making this a reality but I have absolutely no experience in either so I'm afraid I can't help.

Would love to hear other peoples opinion on this.
